Somehow someone encouraged, pressured or otherwise coerced to coach your daughter or son’s team. On the other hand perhaps you stepped up because:
- you insisted you could do a better job coaches you’ve observed
- you thought, “How hard could it be?”, right!?
- you just want to make sure all the kids have a coach the looks out for them.
While these descriptions are often used as justification or excuses, you shouldn’t need to lower your expectations. Remember, the reality is, the kids need your help and guidance not training from NBA or NCAA coaching legends. Trust me, some day they will appreciate your time far more than the perfect season, game, play or award..
